Project Title: Carlsev Saga: Episode I (Special Edition)

Being my first game, there are many areas of Carlsev Saga that can be improved. Although I have received generally positive feedback from the select few of those who -have- completed the game, the fact remains that there are very few who have. It's a huge concern and blow to my esteem, but I think I can use this to my advantage by releasing an even better version. Moreover, I think there are some areas of the story (and setting) that can be fleshed out in preparation of Episode II.

The game will be released (well, "re-released") in July; it'll share a release with the first "demo" (chapter) of Carlsev Saga II!

Features in this "special edition":
* More detailed and consistent background information
* A word document containing a detailed walkthrough and gameguide.
* TWO bonus dungeons and extra rooms
* New cutscenes and some rewritten dialogue
* Easier enemies and tweaks to the alchemy/draw system
* Glitch/graphic fixes

Redoing the new sewers area a bit. After that, areas will be done, and I can focus on tweaking the gameplay and further enhancing the story with new cutscenes and maybe optional flashbacks.

I got the DREADED "Map Tree Data Break" error; I have to figure out how to fix it - otherwise, I'll just start the entire thing from scratch again.

Due to the cancellation of The Three Generals, I have a surplus of maps that I can add to the special edition. Of course, finding an excuse to include some of them means additions to the plot -- and I shall deliver! Overall, Carlsev Saga the special edition will be twice as long as Carlsev Saga I -- when you take into account the new and optional areas.

Optional areas are pretty much completely done. Just a few things WRT balancing and battle event programming. To-do list:

Balancing
Creating a few small cutscenes
Tweaking a few cutscenes
Working more on the library early in the game
A few treasure chests for the new areas
Updating the scan ability
Maybe adding a draw/alchemy guide (although I'll probably save that for the walkthrough)
Doing the battle arena in Latus training grounds. It's basically an "easy farming" place; you can select what to farm and whatnot.
MAYBE updating some of the images with better quality, adding black-and-white screens to more narrations, and maybe fixing up the big sprite enemies. I'm not good at this kind of thing.

Some more information about the planned new/expanded areas:

* The Ice Cavern, Carlsev Caverns, and Haajen Ruins will all have extra sections with optional bosses.
* One of the two bonus dungeons will be the Carlsev Ruins in the Latnus River area. The other will be a pyramid-like structure in the Haajen ruins.
* An expanded library in Carlsev Castle; I may even include a portable database if I'm feeling ambitious.
* Youngwood's playable scenario will be expanded; consequently, Haajen City will be larger and livelier than ever before!
* Easier enemies/bosses; an alchemy guide; one or two new spells (maybe)...
